This house was “just a bit” on the messy side. It was a foreclosed home, with an overwhelming smell of cat urine throughout the entire house. We had to remove several feet of the drywall due to the pungent odor. The wall pictured was torn down allowing an open floor plan. The kitchen was completely gutted, and the kitchen vinyl flooring was removed as well as the adjoining dining room carpeting. A beautiful island with a wood countertop replaced the space-limiting wall, and vinyl tile flooring nicely tied the entryway, kitchen and dining room together.
New stainless steel sink (newly added garbage disposal) refrigerator (with a water and ice dispenser) dishwasher, and gas range complimented by dark-stained maple cabinets and shaker-style doors updated this kitchen. The gas range location was re-located to the other side of kitchen after the wall was demolished. To help with the budget, Menard’s postform laminate countertops adorned the cabinetry. Crown molding topped the cabinets. The knock-down on the ceiling plus the wrought iron light fixtures blends beautifully with all the upgrades.
The previous homeowners liked wallpaper. A lot. So much so, that they even wall papered their laundry room. We removed the existing carpet and wallpaper. This room had a lot of potential. The window casing was stripped, sanded, stained and varnished. The existing cabinets were painted a bright white, with a brilliant splash of color on the walls and new vinyl tile flooring transformed this laundry room from dreary to dreamy.
The master bedroom’s previous 1980’s ceiling fan had a rough life. It had only three of the five blades remaining, and all the lights had lost their support. The poor lights hung down, reflecting the mood of the house that was awaiting some TLC. We removed the mauve carpeting, sanded and stripped the casing, and replaced the baseboard with new 4½″ high baseboard. We treated the sub-flooring with an odor removal product, and sealed the floors before installing new carpeting. A fresh coat of paint finished this room.
This Minneapolis kitchen needed to get out of the 1980’s, and what a difference this small remodeling project made! We removed and disposed of the existing cabinetry, and replaced it with maple “Cabinets to Go!” cabinets. The granite countertops, bronze faucet with pull-out spray handle and under-mount stainless steel sink really makes this kitchen shine! No electrical upgrades were needed, only a little plumbing and the customer was ready get cooking!
“The installers) were fabulous, very helpful, I asked a million questions and I have a degree in design so I learned a lot (from watching the install). My kitchen looks fabulous. I have house-settling issues, but they made it look gorgeous. They stayed late finish. Thank you again. The guys were polite and nice. I kept bugging them and they were so nice to me. If we ever do work in our house again, we're definitely calling M C Squared!" MC2 says: There's no such thing as a customer asking too many questions.”
“(The installers) were on time, they were respectful and did a good job. They did an absolutely gorgeous job, they put in a piece of trim to cover my plumbing chase. Everything turned out great, they did a fabulous job. (The countertop installer) did an absolutely beautiful job. I'm really pleased with exactly how it looks. He did very, very nice job so please pass that onto him. I really appreciate his good work. Thank you for having such a good sub-contractor working for you. I'm so happy that I'm working with MC2!”
“Let me take a minute to tell you that they (M C Squared crew) do very good work. They are very capable and professional. They have a great attention for detail, make sure the work looks great, and they always clean up the area when they leave. I can’t say that about all the contractors I’ve worked with.”
